Installing Your HughesNet Satellite Internet
Once you’ve ordered your HughesNet satellite internet service, we will call you and set a schedule for the installation of your satellite dish and modem.
A certified installer will come to your house and will install everything necessary to get you connected to the internet. Finally, the installer will activate your modem and will help you register at myHughesNet.com.
The Installation Process
Here are the details of how your satellite connection will be installed by the certified installer:
- Your satellite dish will be installed on an approved structure using the standard HughesNet roof and/or wall mounting brackets. As per FCC regulations, the dish will be installed at least 5 feet off the ground.
- A coaxial cable jack will be installed in the room where the HughesNet System will be located. Then, two exterior RG-6 coaxial cables will be routed from the dish to the cable jack. The HughesNet System will also be properly grounded using the required hardware that will be put up by the installer.
- Finally, the installer will check the quality of the reception of the satellite signal. The installer will also commission your HughesNet account.
What’s Not Included in Your HughesNet Installation
- Installing the satellite dish to a roof structure over one storey high.
- Removal/repair of previously mounted equipment. We can do this for you, granted that you sign a Waiver of Liability.
- Custom work. This includes moldings or hardware that hides cables, as well as non-penetrating roof, pole, or chimney mounts. If you foresee a complicated installation procedure at your home, please inform the installer before beginning any work.
